I don’t know about you, but it seems like I’ve been hearing one negative thing after another about storing and cooking food in plastics. A friend of mine was just telling me that her husband got rid of all their plastic storage containers and went out to buy glass bowl replacements instead. Between the concern over BPA and if we should be heating foods in plastics in the first place I’ve been wondering if we should follow suit.
Luckily there seem to be plenty of covered glass bowl alternatives out there that I suspect would last much longer than
Tupperware anyway. And today I am going to give away a free set from Duralex! We started using this very same set last week, and I love them so far. First of all they are stackable so they don’t take up very much room, secondly they serve a dual purpose because the quality is nice enough to serve food out of as well, and lastly the size range seems to be appropriate for our needs. I think we may get a second set so we can do away with plastics all together!

these look great! plastic can be soooo irritating for many reasons. i want these bowls to give to my dad. he loves to cook, and he loves great kitchen products. doesn’t get a chance to get anything new often and i’d love to surprise him. cheers!

I don’t really like using plastics, plus I would like the fact that you can serve out of them- because plastic isn’t very classy!

Love this!!! We have 4 little kids so I always make a ton of food and try to have leftovers:). I am trying to move towards glass and slowly get rid of the plastics…

We are wanting to switch to glass containers, and have been doing it gradually. So far, we’ve only found several glass storage jars at a yard sale we’re using for our bulk items.

I have been wanting to switch from my Rubbermaid plastic storage to glass, but can’t afford to go all organic/natural AND do everything else. For years I refilled my water bottles (Dasani, Nestle) over and over and drank out of them. No telling how much plastic poisoning I have by now and would LOVE, LOVE to have these. (And, no, I don’t still do that – last year I bought several sets of Reduce re-usable bottles and LOVE them.)
I always wanted a set of colored plastic bowls and finally bought some last year. Now I cringe every time I use one! Would loooove a new set to be excited about!!

Yeah! Great giveaway… My hubby takes lunch (dinner leftovers) to work each day and often has to reheat. Love that he could reheat in the glass containers!

I would love to switch to glass containers but what do you put your children’s lunches in? It does not seem safe to send them to school with glass.
