Santé Restaurant

It is worth the drive to South Charlotte to dine at Santé, which is located in a historic building in downtown Matthews. What you’ll get is lots of character, great service, and delicious local food. The restaurant is conveniently located across the street from the Matthews Farmer’s Market where the owner, Adam, shops regularly. And not only does Santé buy locally as much as possible (and have their own restaurant garden out back), but they also compost all of their own waste as well—amazing!

Pictured is my recent birthday dinner of scallops and a “fancy” vegetarian entrée that the restaurant so kindly created for my daughters. The girls had fun sampling so many different veggies and trying bites of our entrées as well. Oh and I’d be lying if I said they didn’t also enjoy chowing down on some white bread rolls as well…one of the many special treats when we go out to eat! For a full list of their offerings check out the menu on their website.

Oooo, I love duck! The slow roasted duck breast would be my top choice.

  2. Since I’m a Sante’ fan on FB, I also get to add that I might have to try the Avocado Egg Rolls with Roasted Corn Relish and Cilantro Aioli. Those sound amazing too, but then again, so does just about everything on the menu! (Loving the looks of that cheesecake!)

  3. I have to also go with the Honey Mustard Glazed Salmon Filet! It looks out of this world!

  4. Everything looks incredible but that Honey Mustard Glazed Salmon Filet looks out of this world!

  5. I’d like to try the Honey Mustard Glazed Salmon Fillet. Salmon is a favorite. I also learned about three new things about the restaurant. Thanks!

  6. I would really like to try the Honey Mustard Glazed Salmon Fillet. It looks and sounds wonderful.

  7. I would love to try any of the vegetarian entrees, as my son became one this past school year in 5th grade.( We are not all vegetarians)I am always trying to find yummy ways to create new options for him.The avocado egg rolls sound wonderful!

  8. Honey Mustard Glazed Salmon Fillet without a doubt. Love the coconut and mango too!

  9. I love Sante….so yummy!!! Onion tart, brussel sprout/beet salad and the filet mignon…hungry just thinking of it!

  10. I don’t live in the area but my sister does, and she is trying to eat healther so I would love to when this for her. I think she would like Andouille Sausage and Crawfish in a Creole Sauce

  11. Oh…I’ve been meaning to try this restaurant! I’ve heard such wonderful things about it!
Anyway, I’d order the Drunken Filet Mignon. Sounds delicious!!!

  12. I just liked them on Facebook so here’s my second entry.

I would love to try the Slow Roasted Duck Breast. I’ve never had duck before and would love the experience of trying it at a local restaurant.

  13. Well, I’d actually like to give some friends of mine the gift certificate, since they moved to Charlotte not too long ago and I think they’d appreciate a good excuse to sample even more of the local flavor! But if *I* were going, I think the Broiled Grouper Fillet sounds delicious, as do many of the other dishes. There’d definitely be some sharing going on at our table!

  14. Since garlic mashed potatoes is a weakness of mine, my second vote as a Sante FB fan is the Free Range Chicken.

  15. Oh wow! I don’t often go to a restaurant where they have so many options that look healthy and yummy too. I think I would have to close my eyes and just point to select an entree but I’d want to make sure I saved room for the Lemon Cheesecake with Crème Anglaise and a Raspberry Sauce!

  16. Everything looks amazing – honestly the salads sounds so good, especially the shaved brussels sprout and roasted beet salad!

  17. I am a fan of them on facebook-
I would also like to try the Slow Roasted Duck Breast
Dried Fruit Cous Cous and a Plum Sauce.
I’ve never had Duck and I’m sure they know how to do it right!
    I’m so hungry now :)

  18. I would try the Orriechette with Andouille Sausage and Crawfish in a Creole Sauce
I will be back home to visit in Sept and this would be an AMAZING treat!
