A quick and easy weeknight dinner, this Beef and Broccoli is a classic for a reason! Tender beef is stir-fried with crisp-tender broccoli in a flavorful sauce. It’s a healthy and delicious meal that’s ready in no time!
1tablespooncornstarch or arrowroot powderoptional, for thickening
brown rice or quinoafor serving
sesame seeds and sliced green onionsfor garnish
Instructions
Marinate the Beef: In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with soy sauce (or coconut aminos), garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for at least 15-30 minutes to enhance the flavor.
Cook the Broccoli: In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of avocado oil over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and slightly tender. Remove the broccoli from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Beef: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of avocado oil. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-5 minutes, or until it’s browned and cooked through. If using, sprinkle the cornstarch over the beef and stir to combine, cooking for another minute until thickened.
Combine Ingredients: Return the broccoli to the skillet with the beef. Add the water and stir to combine everything. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the broccoli is heated through and coated in the sauce.
Serve: Serve the beef and broccoli over cooked brown rice or quinoa. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
Flank steak or sirloin works well, but you can also use ground beef or chicken for a variation.
Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers, snap peas, or carrots for extra color and nutrition.
Marinating the beef for longer enhances flavor, so consider doing it in the morning for a quick dinner later.
Use coconut aminos instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free and lower-sodium option.
This dish holds up well in the fridge, making it a great option for meal prep. Store in airtight containers for up to 4 days.
