how can i get a cookbook with all these recipes you have on this site in it insted of printing each one ?

It would be great if there was an indicator as to which recipes were sweetener free.

Hi! I’m wondering how your recipe index was able to reorder the words in the recipe titles to produce multiple links for one recipe – for example, the Chicken Enchiladas recipe shows up under C for “Chicken Enchiladas” and also under E for “Enchiladas, Chicken”.

Is this done manually or do you have some sort of recipe plugin that generates multiple recipe titles for you? I would love to know how to do it!

    Thanks for your help!

This really isn’t the forum for this, but I’ll take pity…

You should take a look at the multitude types of data structures out there and become familiar with their uses. However, you can make your own, like a sorted map of string lists with an alphabet map to lists of lists to take advantage of cross-referencing and higher-level flow-control logic, or just use an existing database utilizing query language (such as SQL) to pull selected/sorted references for you. Either must be pre-populated with entries, of course, to make useable.. There are other viable (and more useful) techniques and structures (like a graph), though most of them might be more trouble for you to implement…

      AlphabetMap<char alphabetChar, List ListOfTitles >

where each separate list of titles are contained in a specific list, populated from a separate Entry that can ‘spliterate’ a title string into individual tokens to be sorted and placed in the appropriate list within the map.. checking that if a split were made, then you’d need to format all tokens as a new string, vs using the natural order of the token set once sorting order is found.

or, you can make one big list of strings for each title and make separate functions to parse the tokens of that string according to the ‘letter’ you’re displaying for and concatenate each other token (minus the one used for the first placement) after the alphabetized token + “, ” and then sort it’s placement in the alphabet’s sublist… it just depends on the programming paradigm you want to either use or disregard.

My kids love fruit bars (like Nutrigrain Bars)…any suggestions for making those or something similar? Thanks!

I am loving this site and have printed out many of the recipes to try. I love the commentary at the top of the webpage about the recipe as it includes lot of context. However, what I found though after printing the recipes is I couldn’t remember which ones can be frozen ahead of time or good to freeze afterwards for inclusion in kids lunches etc. So thought I’d pass along to see if that could be incorporated into the notes section on each recipe. I also realized it would be good to have an estimated time to make for each one on the printed version, so when planning our days ahead we can think “oh this one only take about 20 mins so wed would be a good day for this since we will be home later than normal” or whatever the situation is.

    Hope the ideas are helpful.

Do you have a recipe for Jalapeno Jam with no pectin or sugar? Would it be the same as your honey sweetened jam recipe? Thank you!

Hi there. That is not something we have tired. ;)

I would like to convert some family favorite recipes that use canned condensed soups. Any advise on how to do that? Also, is evaporated milk okay to use?
