Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils

Many people swear by essential oils as home remedies and claim they help keep their kids out of the doctor's office. Though these claims are not backed by the FDA, it certainly sounds intriguing! So if you want to figure out how to incorporate them into your family's routine, here are some good ways to start.

Top 5 Oils

  1. Lavender
Lavender Population is known for being calming by reducing anxiety and acting as a stress reliever. It can also help with minor burns and reducing scarring and other skin issues including eczema and psoriasis.
    -
  2. Lemon
Lemon can be refreshing, energizing, and uplifting. It can also be added to your favorite household cleaner to help refresh and sanitize.
    -
  3. Peppermint
Peppermint is stimulating and can help enhance alertness and improve your energy. It can also relieve headaches, nausea, digestive problems, and congestion. Because of its menthol content, peppermint has a cooling effect which can also help reduce a fever and relieve pain.
    -
  4. Tea Tree
Tea Tree is often known for its ability to help combat acne and oily skin. You can also add a few drops to laundry to help keep things fresh.
    -
  5. Frankincense

My friend just introduced me to oils. I tried my first one this week and just by rubbing a digestive blend on my stomach, it took away my nausea. I'm a skeptic turned believer! I would love to try others and a sample kit would be most helpful!

My grandma has been recently diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gering's Disease, after having problems with her hips and eventually losing the movement of her legs. I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology with an emphasis on cognitive science and research. I left my hometown in VA to help her in Michigan. In order to help her, I did what I know best, research. Throughout my research of alternative therapy techniques for ALS, the use of essential oils showed up quite often. I would really love to give essential oils a chance because I believe in the healing power of nature. I also know that most modern medicine is at some level derived from a source in nature, so it makes sense to go straight to the source for the treatment of ailments. However, due to the high cost of transitioning her home to be handicap accessible, there has been little resources left to acquire the essential oils needed for her therapy. Winning the essential oils would be a tremendous blessing for our family as we hold on to hope and do everything in our power to help rehabilitate my grandmother. Thanks for this opportunity. Be blessed!

I would absolutely love to have either of these sets.
I have wanted so badly to have a full arsenal of oils to use for our family but it always gets put on the backburner.
We definitely want to go a natural route and to purify our routines, including trying to not need daily prescription medications!
It would be a blessing for sure.
    Thank you :)
