Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils

Many people swear by essential oils as home remedies and claim they help keep their kids out of the doctor's office. Though these claims are not backed by the FDA, it certainly sounds intriguing! So if you want to figure out how to incorporate them into your family's routine, here are some good ways to start.

Top 5 Oils

  1. Lavender
Lavender Population is known for being calming by reducing anxiety and acting as a stress reliever. It can also help with minor burns and reducing scarring and other skin issues including eczema and psoriasis.
    -
  2. Lemon
Lemon can be refreshing, energizing, and uplifting. It can also be added to your favorite household cleaner to help refresh and sanitize.
    -
  3. Peppermint

I'm a total natural gal! So essential oils is right up my ally!! I'm a mother of 3 children and run a non toxic Childcare out of my home.
These oils is something I would incorporate into our everyday lives.
My oldest son has severe eczema and my daughter is a type 1 diabetic. I have heard great results for both through oils. Good luck to all!:)

    Thanks!

I'd love to try EOs as a more breastfeeding-friendly approach to meds! I take allergy meds daily and am just about fed up with how many days are still spent in bed with a migraine. I've been wanting to try switching to oils instead of meds, but price has prevented me... Insurance covers meds but not oils :(

I recently lost my mom to breast cancer and it was a wake up call. I began to wonder how such a healthy person could seemingly become horribly sick over night. Suddenly, I was acutely aware of all of the children with cancer and began to wonder if the increased amount of chemicals in our lives could be causing much of this illness. I have made the switch to an almost entirely whole food diet and am very interested in trying essential oils as a way to further rid my life of unnecessary chemicals.

I love Plant Therapy! You will be satisfied with their products and customer service, for whoever wins this awesome giveaway. I am working to build my supply of oils, but still learning/figuring out which ones would best suit myself and my family. I have been very pleased with what I have learned from the ladies on their blog and FB page. :)

I would love to try the kid synergy blends. My son has ADHD and I would be interested if the calming and sleep blends would be beneficial. I use essential oil for making homemade cleaning products, but would be unsure of how to blend them for other uses.

I'd like to try the essential oils because I've heard that home remedies can work just as good, if not better, than prescribed medicine and over the counter medicine for some ailments. I also like the fact that the oils can be used with store bought products for cleaning, sanitizing and air freshening. I'm currently learning how to eat healthier and welcome products that will make my family and myself safer and healthier. I am also trying to recycle more and try to look for ways to make the environment better, using less waste. I'm trying to get back to nature as much as I can.

I just had my second child and I am wanting to use essential oils more vs relying on standard "medicine". I currently have peppermint, lemon, and tea tree oil and I use those frequently but I would love to have a more complete set, especially with blends!
