Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils

Many people swear by essential oils as home remedies and claim they help keep their kids out of the doctor's office. Though these claims are not backed by the FDA, it certainly sounds intriguing! So if you want to figure out how to incorporate them into your family's routine, here are some good ways to start.

Top 5 Oils

  1. Lavender
Lavender Population is known for being calming by reducing anxiety and acting as a stress reliever. It can also help with minor burns and reducing scarring and other skin issues including eczema and psoriasis.
    -
  2. Lemon
Lemon can be refreshing, energizing, and uplifting. It can also be added to your favorite household cleaner to help refresh and sanitize.
    -
  3. Peppermint
Peppermint is stimulating and can help enhance alertness and improve your energy. It can also relieve headaches, nausea, digestive problems, and congestion. Because of its menthol content, peppermint has a cooling effect which can also help reduce a fever and relieve pain.
    -
  4. Tea Tree
Tea Tree is often known for its ability to help combat acne and oily skin. You can also add a few drops to laundry to help keep things fresh.
    -
  5. Frankincense
Frankincense frereana is especially prized for its skin rejuvenating properties. It's great for wrinkles, scars, dry skin and damaged skin, and can help heal a wound or cut. It can also calm and relax your body and uplift your mood.

I've used essential oils to make bath salts as gifts and have been wanting to expand my knowledge and use of them. We do a lot of outdoor trips and are constantly meeting new people from around the country and essential oils always has a mixed response. It would be a great experience to try them out and formulate my own opinion.

We've recently started trying to live healthier lifestyles. I'd like to try oils and hopefully get rid of some of the chemicals we're currently putting in our bodies. I take allergy medicine and my fiancé takes sleeping pills.

My husband and I do therapeutic foster care for teens who are dealing with a variety of issues. We are interested in finding natural alternatives to deal with problems instead of just medical interventions. I tried an essential oil recently that really calmed the atmosphere around here so now I'm sold!

Oil-my-goodness! I really want to try to win the Plant Therapy's Essential Oils because I tried an epsom salt bath the other day and I loved it! Now all I need is different essential oils to try in my bath, and to learn to use around my home. Eating and using more natural products has been a hobby and a huge learning experience for me since I got my hands on the 100 Days of Real Food Cook Book a few months ago. I feel as if I have been living in the dark my whole life regarding my health, the health of my family, and the health of the environment and animals. Eating real foods and using different products in my home has changed my outlook on life and it has truly been a spiritual experience for me. I would LOVE to win the essential oils giveaway pack!

I have been changing our eating habits since I got really sick 4 years ago. Haven't been to a McDonalds in over 3 years! I started cooking from scratch like my mother did and enjoying knowing what is exactly in our food. I'm learning about vitamins and minerals and would be also interested in these essential oils. I have friends I can help because we are all realizing that food and the medical establishment is not always what is best for long-term. Hope the person who wins this would appreciate it as much as I would!
