Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils

Many people swear by essential oils as home remedies and claim they help keep their kids out of the doctor's office. Though these claims are not backed by the FDA, it certainly sounds intriguing! So if you want to figure out how to incorporate them into your family's routine, here are some good ways to start.

Top 5 Oils

  1. Lavender
Lavender Population is known for being calming by reducing anxiety and acting as a stress reliever. It can also help with minor burns and reducing scarring and other skin issues including eczema and psoriasis.
    -
  2. Lemon
Lemon can be refreshing, energizing, and uplifting. It can also be added to your favorite household cleaner to help refresh and sanitize.
    -
  3. Peppermint
Peppermint is stimulating and can help enhance alertness and improve your energy. It can also relieve headaches, nausea, digestive problems, and congestion. Because of its menthol content, peppermint has a cooling effect which can also help reduce a fever and relieve pain.
    -
  4. Tea Tree
Tea Tree is often known for its ability to help combat acne and oily skin. You can also add a few drops to laundry to help keep things fresh.
    -
  5. Frankincense
Frankincense frereana is especially prized for its skin rejuvenating properties. It's great for wrinkles, scars, dry skin and damaged skin, and can help heal a wound or cut. It can also calm and relax your body and uplift your mood.

Top 5 KidSafe Synergies

Plant Therapy also has a line of KidSafe Synergies, which are basically different blends. Here are their top 5 for summer:

I'd love the chance to try these oils, because I'm looking for natural ways to ease my fibro symptoms. I'm a believer in lavender and clove essential oils, so this would be a great opportunity to expand my knowledge base and decrease my symptoms... opening the door to help other people who suffer from fibro through the support groups I'm a part of!

I use lavender, peppermint and lemon for baths and to mix with lotion to put on the bottom of our feet (helps with allergies) but I am trying to get up the nerve to branch out from just those 3!

I have been wanting to try essential oils for a long time but I have never been brave enough to take the plunge (financially). I know they are powerful for healing and aiding in health over all...plus many other benefits. I would LOVE a complete kit!

I would love to win this! I just heard of the great effects of essential oils from my sister in law! She raved about the amazing effects for allergies, colds, calming, skin, etc. Our family battles illness, allergies, and my son would definitely benefit from night time calming synergy! I cannot afford a kit and winning this set I would be so grateful, as would my family.

I was first made aware of essential oils in yoga class. Our yoga teacher brought in her oils for us to put on our mats or ourselves to enhance our yoga experience. I had chosen the orange scent as it reminded me of childhood. I would be grateful to own a set.
