Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils

Many people swear by essential oils as home remedies and claim they help keep their kids out of the doctor's office. Though these claims are not backed by the FDA, it certainly sounds intriguing! So if you want to figure out how to incorporate them into your family's routine, here are some good ways to start.

Top 5 Oils

  1. Lavender
Lavender Population is known for being calming by reducing anxiety and acting as a stress reliever. It can also help with minor burns and reducing scarring and other skin issues including eczema and psoriasis.
    -
  2. Lemon
Lemon can be refreshing, energizing, and uplifting. It can also be added to your favorite household cleaner to help refresh and sanitize.
    -
  3. Peppermint
Peppermint is stimulating and can help enhance alertness and improve your energy. It can also relieve headaches, nausea, digestive problems, and congestion. Because of its menthol content, peppermint has a cooling effect which can also help reduce a fever and relieve pain.
    -
  4. Tea Tree
Tea Tree is often known for its ability to help combat acne and oily skin. You can also add a few drops to laundry to help keep things fresh.
    -
  5. Frankincense
Frankincense frereana is especially prized for its skin rejuvenating properties. It's great for wrinkles, scars, dry skin and damaged skin, and can help heal a wound or cut. It can also calm and relax your body and uplift your mood.

Top 5 KidSafe Synergies

Plant Therapy also has a line of KidSafe Synergies, which are basically different blends. Here are their top 5 for summer:

    -
  3. Ban The Bugs

    -
  4. Calming The Child
These relaxing synergies are great to use during the day or before bed when you or your child are feeling overwhelmed or extra wound up.
    -
  5. Nighty Night
These two oils are perfect to help you or your little one sleep more soundly during the night. Fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. I know we've all gotten to a point where we will try anything!

I have been Interested in essential oils for quite some time. Plant therapy is the company I've been looking at because of their kid safe line. My daughter is 3 an has autism and sensory processing disorder, I've been ratcheting all natural remedies and alternatives and oils keep coming up as the safest an most effective alternate to some of the meds their considering for her. I would LOVE to be able to try these oils as I've not been able to afford them with all her therapy costs. Plant therapy comes highly recommend and the only ones that have a kid safe line. I woukd absolutely LOVE to be able to try these and to try an help my daughter. Thanks!

I have a few essential oils I use for my toddlers and they really seem to help. As a family we try to be as healthy as possible and not use any chemicals or OTC drugs and I know these kits can replace all those and have many more uses I'd love to try out for myself!
    Thanks for the opportunity!

I had Lyme disease, and have a compromised immune system. Since then, I have learned to eat healthy foods, clean without nasty stuff (vinegar and water are my best friend), and I am just learning about essential oils. When my we had the flu, I made the thieves oil concoction to help prevent the spread of the flu (burned it in the family room). I just created a spray that ticks don't like, although it doesn't kill them on contact. I would love a starter kit because I truly need to learn how to defend myself and boost my immune system. I am not sure which oils are for consumption or which oils you use outside the body. So far my understanding is a spray on the body. Thank you for your consideration, your help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to work at a store that carried essential oils but never really got into them. I regret that now and am always bookmarking diy "recipes" that involve essential oils. This would be the perfect way for me to redeem myself!
