Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils

Many people swear by essential oils as home remedies and claim they help keep their kids out of the doctor's office. Though these claims are not backed by the FDA, it certainly sounds intriguing! So if you want to figure out how to incorporate them into your family's routine, here are some good ways to start.

Top 5 Oils

  1. Lavender
Lavender Population is known for being calming by reducing anxiety and acting as a stress reliever. It can also help with minor burns and reducing scarring and other skin issues including eczema and psoriasis.
    -
  2. Lemon
Lemon can be refreshing, energizing, and uplifting. It can also be added to your favorite household cleaner to help refresh and sanitize.
    -
  3. Peppermint
Peppermint is stimulating and can help enhance alertness and improve your energy. It can also relieve headaches, nausea, digestive problems, and congestion. Because of its menthol content, peppermint has a cooling effect which can also help reduce a fever and relieve pain.
    -
  4. Tea Tree
Tea Tree is often known for its ability to help combat acne and oily skin. You can also add a few drops to laundry to help keep things fresh.
    -
  5. Frankincense
Frankincense frereana is especially prized for its skin rejuvenating properties. It's great for wrinkles, scars, dry skin and damaged skin, and can help heal a wound or cut. It can also calm and relax your body and uplift your mood.

Top 5 KidSafe Synergies

Plant Therapy also has a line of KidSafe Synergies, which are basically different blends. Here are their top 5 for summer:

    -
  3. Ban The Bugs

    -
  4. Calming The Child
These relaxing synergies are great to use during the day or before bed when you or your child are feeling overwhelmed or extra wound up.
    -
  5. Nighty Night
These two oils are perfect to help you or your little one sleep more soundly during the night. Fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. I know we've all gotten to a point where we will try anything!

I have heard so many wonderful things about essential oils, but have not been able to afford them. I am especially interested in all of the health benefits they can provide. My husband struggles with many health issues and I would love to have an alternative to all of the synthetic treatments that are out there.

I want to learn to use essential oils to promote health and well being for me, my husband, and our pets. I prefer to try alternative methods before I go to doctors.

I'm just looking into the world of oils and natural remedies. We have two children and one on the way. My two year old and I are constantly ill, and hoping essential oils can give us a way to fight back. I myself have found that I like lavender and anything that assists with breathing a must have, but have so much more to explore.

I too am relatively new to essential oils and have been a bit disappointed with the lack of knowledge and sometimes dangerous advice that untrained MLM representatives are inexcusably giving to clients. I think essential oils are wonderful and I have been working very hard on educating myself on how to use them properly. I have read great things about Plant Therapy and Robert Tisserand and I would love an opportunity to try and compare these oils to the ones I have already invested in. Thank you!

I would like to try these because my son has a lot of health problems and doesn't handle medication well at all. This would be life changing for him and us as we are low income and couldn't afford this alone.

I've seen many suggested uses that interest me, but hesitate to invest in many not knowing if they'll work for me. Getting a starter kit would help me explore the options.

I would love to receive the oils packages. In the past two years both my husband and I have experienced cancer - for me breast cancer for him squamous cell carcinoma. There are so many healing opportunities using oils. During chemotherapy the only thing that helped my husbands nausea was diffusing frankincense. We would really benefit from having a selection like this.
