Duralex Glass Cups for Kids!

Since my oldest daughter is entering 1st grade this fall I’ve decided it’s time to do away with all our sippy cups. Plus, I’ve been getting rid of plastic in other areas of our kitchen so it seemed like the right time to upgrade the kids’ items as well. I wasn’t quite ready to start letting our daughters use the “adult” glass cups though since we keep them in a cabinet they can’t reach, and they seem rather “breakable” anyway. So I was thrilled when I learned about these kid-friendly glass tumblers that are extremely durable and chip resistant. They are the perfect solution!

I put these stackable glass cups in a big drawer that my daughters can reach, and they LOVE getting out their own cups and filling them up with water all by themselves. My four-year-old is graduating from sippy cups a little early, but she is probably the most excited. The first night she used one I think she told me a dozen times that her cup was “breakable” just like mommy’s. And since the glass is durable and tempered I don’t worry too much about it actually breaking. Although I was sure to tell them if they did accidentally break a glass not to move an inch until I came to the rescue! So far these cups seem pretty kid-proof though.

My kids use small glass juice tumblers but we've broken a couple recently and it'd be good to get some more.

What a great solution. My first attempt at ridding plastic was my great Christmas present from my husband of class frig storage containers from my husband this past year. This would be a great next step. My OLDEST is in kindergarten and she is certainly ready for these. Thanks!

I am trying to get rid of the sippy cup as well. My almost four year old is very reluctant to change!! I think new glasses will certainly help the transition!!

With 9 children and several broken glasses in the past couple of months, we are in need of some new glasses for them and I love that they won't break as easily as what we currently have!

I am slowly trying to go healthy in all areas. I have recently bought a wheat grinder to make my own flour and my husband is on a BPA free kick. It would be great to have a set of these to continue our efforts.

Wow! I just came on the computer to do two things - to print your sample menus for real food and to look up alternatives to plastic for kid dishes. I decided to browse your blog after I printed the menus and couldn't believe you were talking about the very thing I needed to look at next! We don't use any plastic ourselves and I was really dreading the kid cup era that will soon come (our 1st child is almost 1). These look wonderful!!!

i love these so much...i LOVE these glasses. i am the kind of mom that HATES using plastic cups, as soon as my 3 kids were past sippy cups, which was about 3 yrs of age...i get small mugs at thrift stores for them to use, and if one breaks oh well only cost me 35 cents. BUT these are SO pretty.

I too am getting rid of plastics in our kitchen as much as possible. I have always preferred glass anyway but the option of not breaking has been a plus. Oh well, if they break, they break.
