About Kamikoto High-End Knives

The Kamikoto 神箏 Kanpeki Knife Set is handcrafted from high-quality steel from Honshu 本州, Japan and rigorously quality tested to ensure that it meets the distinction and caliber of Kamikoto 神箏.

The Kamikoto 神箏 Kanpeki Knife Set that we gave away includes one slicing knife (8.5 inches long), one vegetable knife (7 inches long), and one utility knife (5 inches long) to tackle the smaller, more intricate chores in the kitchen. Each knife is precision balanced and weighted for optimal form and long-lasting performance, and each blade is carefully tapered on one side and hollow ground on the other. Both handle and blade are satin finished, and the entire set is presented in a natural-colored ash wood box for safe storage and keeping.

Ingredients

  • 1 large eggplant (about 2 pounds, cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • 1 32-ounce jar marinara sauce
  • 6 ounces mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • whole-wheat pasta (cooked, for serving)
  • basil (fresh, for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375° F.
  • Heat the olive oil in your largest skillet over medium heat. Add the cubed eggplant and cook while stirring until it darkens in color, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour half the marinara sauce in the bottom of a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Shake it around to ensure it's evenly spread. Add the eggplant on top.
  • Sprinkle all but ½ cup of the shredded mozzarella on top of the eggplant, pour in the rest of the sauce, and top it with the remaining mozzarella and grated parmesan.
  • Bake until bubbly and golden brown, about 25 - 30 minutes. Serve warm over whole-wheat noodles and topped with fresh basil.

Notes

  1. Gluten free when using gluten-free pasta for serving.
  2. We recommend organic ingredients when feasible.

My husband is Cuban and loves cooking fresh! We will use the knives for chopping fresh vegetables, fruits and everything in between! The knives we have right now aren't the greatest and don't chop very well. "Facebook" :)

Those beautiful knives would get a workout in our kitchen everyday! Our current knives are dull and old. I'd love a new set!!!

Oh my, having these knives would be a dream come true! I do lots of cooking and lots of chopping and these knives would make that so much easier. My knives always seem dull no matter how I sharpen them and as the pros always say the best way to hurt yourself in the kitchen is with a dull knife!

Beautiful knife set! Slicing knife would wonderful at holidays with large roasts or poultry. Fall is coming with pumpkins, squashes and other hard root vegetables that would be SO much safer to cut with sharp knives!!

Well I'll just put it this way. We have one knife! One!!!! Money's tight most of the time so that's not a purchase that takes center stage but I still try to feed my family good clean goods. Even if I do have to saw and saw a sweet potato.

These knives are NEEDED in our kitchen. Our old set (despite my multiple attempts at sharpening) are dull and some are chipped. We eat whole clean foods and need some wonderful tools to chop those fruits and veggies or slice the meat.

I slice bread slices horizontal to make sandwich thins for my family. I need SUPER sharp knives to do this, or the bread tears. This set would be incredible. We also are eating a more flexitarian menu so we chop lots of veggies!

I would love to be able to use these to help me prepare healthier food for me to eat instead of fast food. I work long hours in a animal hospital and it can be hard for me to stick to a healthy meal plan. I think these would make preparation of my meals go much easier and faster.

I would use the knifes as a present for my parents. Few years ago I gave them a ceramic knife which cut well, but it broke, but they continue to use it. Ever since I feel bad about it. This would be a perfect replacement for them.
