About Kamikoto High-End Knives

The Kamikoto 神箏 Kanpeki Knife Set is handcrafted from high-quality steel from Honshu 本州, Japan and rigorously quality tested to ensure that it meets the distinction and caliber of Kamikoto 神箏.

The Kamikoto 神箏 Kanpeki Knife Set that we gave away includes one slicing knife (8.5 inches long), one vegetable knife (7 inches long), and one utility knife (5 inches long) to tackle the smaller, more intricate chores in the kitchen. Each knife is precision balanced and weighted for optimal form and long-lasting performance, and each blade is carefully tapered on one side and hollow ground on the other. Both handle and blade are satin finished, and the entire set is presented in a natural-colored ash wood box for safe storage and keeping.

Ingredients

  • 1 large eggplant (about 2 pounds, cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • 1 32-ounce jar marinara sauce
  • 6 ounces mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • whole-wheat pasta (cooked, for serving)
  • basil (fresh, for serving)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375° F.
  • Heat the olive oil in your largest skillet over medium heat. Add the cubed eggplant and cook while stirring until it darkens in color, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Pour half the marinara sauce in the bottom of a 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Shake it around to ensure it's evenly spread. Add the eggplant on top.
  • Sprinkle all but ½ cup of the shredded mozzarella on top of the eggplant, pour in the rest of the sauce, and top it with the remaining mozzarella and grated parmesan.
  • Bake until bubbly and golden brown, about 25 - 30 minutes. Serve warm over whole-wheat noodles and topped with fresh basil.

Notes

  1. Gluten free when using gluten-free pasta for serving.
  2. We recommend organic ingredients when feasible.

My husband would probably use them the most. We buy lots of things in bulk and could use these knives to expertly portion out items. Plus, I could easily make my own chicken cutlets rather than pay a premium to buy thin sliced chicken breasts at the store.

I would love to use this on sweet potatoes. I always have a hard time cutting them to make different recipes. And I would love to use them on pineapple and watermelon because I always push that task off onto my husband because of our knife choices. For once I would love to be able to see my kid's faces when they saw ME cutting them.

I would be overjoyed if I won the knife set because I'm sixteen and love to cook! My knife set can barely cut through a tomato, so winning some new knives would help me "sharpen" up my cooking skills

I would LOVE these knives to chop all the fresh veggies for roasting and preparing fresh fruit to use instead of desserts. Would also use these wonderful knives to prepare bowls of various veggies to use as green salad add-ins. Great knives make kitchen chores so much easier and Kamikoto brand is the top of the line.

I love chopping! It's very therapeutic. It helps me refocus from work day to home. Also, I just had a baby 4 months ago. The little one is finally giving me some time to cook proper meals for the family. It would be so much faster to chop veggies and meat with this excellent set!

Motivation to get me back to making homemade meals and making meal prep more enjoyable!!
I became disabled 6yrs ago and cooking has become more difficult due to pain and fatigue. I know having the proper tools can help alleviate this as chopping up ingredients with sub par knives only makes the task more of a struggle but being on a tight budget doesn't allow me to purchase top of the line.
It would be so amazing to win this knife set and get back to cooking healthy delicious meals
