Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils

Many people swear by essential oils as home remedies and claim they help keep their kids out of the doctor's office. Though these claims are not backed by the FDA, it certainly sounds intriguing! So if you want to figure out how to incorporate them into your family's routine, here are some good ways to start.

Top 5 Oils

  1. Lavender
Lavender Population is known for being calming by reducing anxiety and acting as a stress reliever. It can also help with minor burns and reducing scarring and other skin issues including eczema and psoriasis.
    -
  2. Lemon
Lemon can be refreshing, energizing, and uplifting. It can also be added to your favorite household cleaner to help refresh and sanitize.
    -
  3. Peppermint

I would love to win this kit because I always feel so helpless when my kids get a virus you just have to "wait out". With essential oils I feel like I could actually do something to help them!

I would like to learn more about, and use, essential oils. As grandparents, and mid-age people there are numerous health issues that we need to deal with on a daily basis, whether for ourselves or for our grandchildren. I truly believe that we have been blessed with abundant healthy alternatives to conventional medicines right here on earth, if we will only empower ourselves with the knowledge of how best to use them!

I have read many recipes that use essential oils to make natural sunscreens and bug repellents. I have been wanting to try them out. We don't use sunscreen unless we're going to be out for hours, but it would be nice to make and have on hand for those occasions. And we've had a ton of rain this spring here and are already fighting mosquitoes like crazy. We would love a natural defense against them and the viruses they carry!

I would love to try Plant Therapy oils because over the holidays, on the day when my husband's family (including 10-month old twins) arrived at our house, he and I both came down with the flu :( My sister-in-law had an essential oil kit and rubbed oregano oil on her boys' feet and had the rest of the family put some on their pizza (homemade by the way). Miraculously no one else came down with the flu! I am now a believer in the essential oils, and I would love to have some for my family to use, especially Plant Therapy brand because of their high quality and affordable pricing.

I just had my third child 5 months ago. I am a stay at home mom and believe in providing my children with real food and products that contain few ingredients. I do not like to give my children medication and always use natural remedies instead. I have just recently heard about using essential oils on children as a natural approach Instead of medication. I would like to learn more about the use and benefits of the oils.

My daughter got us started on essential oils - I have been dealing with Ovarian Cancer for the past 6 years and moving toward healthier "everything". Have included a lot of 100 Days of Real Food along with EO to help with issues stemming from treatment. My latest test is helping my weak nails - they are paper thin - brushing Frankincense, Myrrh & Lemon on them twice a day. We'll see how it works!

I've mostly ignored essential oils (I do have a few basics I've bought from various places, like lavender for laundry freshness and tea tree oil for the diaper bag) because the MLM angle turns me off. But, I'd be interested in trying these from Plant Therapy (a brand I've never heard of) to share with my family and friends!
