Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils

Many people swear by essential oils as home remedies and claim they help keep their kids out of the doctor's office. Though these claims are not backed by the FDA, it certainly sounds intriguing! So if you want to figure out how to incorporate them into your family's routine, here are some good ways to start.

Content courtesy of our sponsor Plant Therapy

Top 5 Oils

  1. Lavender
Lavender Population is known for being calming by reducing anxiety and acting as a stress reliever. It can also help with minor burns and reducing scarring and other skin issues including eczema and psoriasis.
    -
  2. Lemon
Lemon can be refreshing, energizing, and uplifting. It can also be added to your favorite household cleaner to help refresh and sanitize.
    -
  3. Peppermint
Peppermint is stimulating and can help enhance alertness and improve your energy. It can also relieve headaches, nausea, digestive problems, and congestion. Because of its menthol content, peppermint has a cooling effect which can also help reduce a fever and relieve pain.
    -
  4. Tea Tree
Tea Tree is often known for its ability to help combat acne and oily skin. You can also add a few drops to laundry to help keep things fresh.
    -
  5. Frankincense
Frankincense frereana is especially prized for its skin rejuvenating properties. It's great for wrinkles, scars, dry skin and damaged skin, and can help heal a wound or cut. It can also calm and relax your body and uplift your mood.

Top 5 KidSafe Synergies

Plant Therapy also has a line of KidSafe Synergies, which are basically different blends. Here are their top 5 for summer:

    -
  3. Ban The Bugs
Beware summertime buggers! Your family can play outdoors more this summer with an all natural insect repellent using these synergies.
    -
  4. Calming The Child
These relaxing synergies are great to use during the day or before bed when you or your child are feeling overwhelmed or extra wound up.
    -
  5. Nighty Night
These two oils are perfect to help you or your little one sleep more soundly during the night. Fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. I know we've all gotten to a point where we will try anything!

I would like to try essential oils as an alternative for traditional medication. I'm particularly interested in the allergy relief for my kids, as my 2 1/2 year old is on several medications for allergies and reactive airway disease.

How wonderful to offer an opportunity to win some essential oils! I am working to replace medicines, treatments, cleaners etc with essential oils. I also try to share what I have learned with others. I am just starting my journey but already find many uses for my family! I would love to receive more tips and more oils to try! We return to Uganda soon to work where there are many ailments and fewer medical options: oils are a great resource to have on hand! :-)

I have tried a few of your oils and have left reviews on Amazon on how much I loved the products. I even purchased a diffuser and am anxious to try as many oils as possible. I have a very low immune system due to the monthly infusion I must take for my RA, and meds I take for my Fibromaliya. My son is Austistic, has asthma, ADD, ASAD, PDD, and essential oils seem to help him. Your oils are natural and I want to embrace them . Please, I hope I win for both myself and my son.

My husband and I are also in the process to be become licensed foster parents and I really want to incorporate essential oils into our daily lives!! Thank you for tje giveaway!!

I have a few acquaintances who regularly use essential oils and sing praises about their health benefits. I've been intrigued to try them for a long time now, but the hefty price tag has been holding me back. I have three kids under 6 who seem to get sick regularly and I would love to begin to incorporate essential oils into their lives. This generous offer sounds like a wonderful way to get started!

Essential oils are becoming an essential part in our (my family) lives. My sister was diagnosed with Acute Myeloyd Leukemia, and we have been treating her nausea, pain and well being with oils recommended by a her naturopath the oils can be costly and we are needing more than an average person as we use them for cleaning, medically and aesthetically. This would be a good send to win for anyone, good luck to all <3
