Beginner's Guide to Essential Oils

Many people swear by essential oils as home remedies and claim they help keep their kids out of the doctor's office. Though these claims are not backed by the FDA, it certainly sounds intriguing! So if you want to figure out how to incorporate them into your family's routine, here are some good ways to start.

Top 5 Oils

  1. Lavender
Lavender Population is known for being calming by reducing anxiety and acting as a stress reliever. It can also help with minor burns and reducing scarring and other skin issues including eczema and psoriasis.
    -
  2. Lemon
Lemon can be refreshing, energizing, and uplifting. It can also be added to your favorite household cleaner to help refresh and sanitize.
    -
  3. Peppermint
Peppermint is stimulating and can help enhance alertness and improve your energy. It can also relieve headaches, nausea, digestive problems, and congestion. Because of its menthol content, peppermint has a cooling effect which can also help reduce a fever and relieve pain.
    -
  4. Tea Tree
Tea Tree is often known for its ability to help combat acne and oily skin. You can also add a few drops to laundry to help keep things fresh.
    -
  5. Frankincense
Frankincense frereana is especially prized for its skin rejuvenating properties. It's great for wrinkles, scars, dry skin and damaged skin, and can help heal a wound or cut. It can also calm and relax your body and uplift your mood.

I just started using a few oils around the house, and they work! I'd like to try more oils out than the lavender, chamomile and rose that I have, Essential oils really could help my crazy family be healthier and happier and calmer!

This past year our family has been sick more than we have in the past 5 years and it just has not gotten better. My littlest has severe ear infections and is going through his second set of tubes. My husband has severe allergies and is immune to over the counter and prescriptions allergy medicine. I think that trying essential oils is our next step and would love to try this!

I just started my research and understanding of Essential Oils. I would like to win this contest because of my ailments with Migraine and Acne. I have had severe, regular migraines for 24 years (and acne problems for 17 years). I am learning how to manage the migraines without medical intervention so my husband and I can one day, safely, get pregnant. My friend has made me some samples of a few essentials known to help but I know this is going to be a long, expensive process of trial and error (as every new process has been). Winning this would really help me get started! Thanks for the opportunity. :-)

I went to a home show where they demonstrated natural oils. I was totally fascinated. We have many issues with allergies, diabetes, and genetic disease, and treating as much as we can naturally with essential oils is "just what the doctor ordered!!!!"
