Duralex Glass Cups for Kids!

Since my oldest daughter is entering 1st grade this fall I’ve decided it’s time to do away with all our sippy cups. Plus, I’ve been getting rid of plastic in other areas of our kitchen so it seemed like the right time to upgrade the kids’ items as well. I wasn’t quite ready to start letting our daughters use the “adult” glass cups though since we keep them in a cabinet they can’t reach, and they seem rather “breakable” anyway. So I was thrilled when I learned about these kid-friendly glass tumblers that are extremely durable and chip resistant. They are the perfect solution!

I put these stackable glass cups in a big drawer that my daughters can reach, and they LOVE getting out their own cups and filling them up with water all by themselves. My four-year-old is graduating from sippy cups a little early, but she is probably the most excited. The first night she used one I think she told me a dozen times that her cup was “breakable” just like mommy’s. And since the glass is durable and tempered I don’t worry too much about it actually breaking. Although I was sure to tell them if they did accidentally break a glass not to move an inch until I came to the rescue! So far these cups seem pretty kid-proof though.

My kids would love these. They always want to drink out of "real" glasses instead of sippy cups and who can blame them? Water tastes much better in glass than plastic!

I am trying hard to get away from all plastic in our kitchen. My biggest challenge is the kids. These sound exactly like what I need to make the transition. An explanation of why we are switching to glass is an important educational tool we can use to help our children learn to make wise health decisions.

My "kids" are all teenagers now and seem to chip and crack things more now!! I love the look of these and the durability might mean they are more teenager-proof! ;)

My 2 year old uses a mix of cups and sippies and I'd love these. My husband would have much less of a heart attack about her having glass cups then and I could upgrade from our jelly jar glasses that I give her.

We have 4 kids. THe oldest two drink out of glass but have always had the younger two drinking from plastic cups until recently. Stwitched the third child to glass but have been still holding out on giving my 7 year old glass and these Duralex glasses seem perfect for making the switch with our youngest.

We are making lots of changes in our lifestyle--from what we eat to what we serve it on. These classes would be wonderful for our 4-year-old so she can finally ditch the cheap plastic cups we've collected over the years!

    Thanks!!

I buy glasses from Wal-mart for $1.25 apiece. This sounds cheap until you realize that I have invested in over $40 in glasses THIS YEAR ALONE and I only have 3 glasses in my cabinet. It really doesn't matter what brand we buy; we break them. And honestly, it's not just the kids. I break just as many when I get in a hurry putting dishes away, when I set them too close to the edge of the table, or when I let go before being certain the recipient has a firm grasp on the glass.

Friends have recommended I try jelly jars, but we don't eat jelly.

This sounds like an awesome find.

I am having my 6-year-old soon-to-be step-daughter come stay with me in July. I know these would make her feel grown up and part of the family. I like to let her know that there parts of the house just for her, and this would make her feel really special!

These look perfect! We graduated our pre-schooler straight to glass and these would help ease a little "ours are not chip resistant" -ness!
