Paleo Cookbooks from The Primal Palate

Chances are you’ve heard of the Paleo lifestyle/diet. It is no secret that it’s a growing trend, which many around us are embracing. The Paleo lifestyle means eating real food with an emphasis on humanely raised meat, organic vegetables, and good quality fats like organic coconut oil, fats from pasture-raised animals, and grass-fed butter/ghee. That means no grains! And in some cases, depending on which Paleo eater you are talking to, no dairy. The other focus of the Paleo diet is to incorporate organ meats and fermented foods like sauerkraut and kombucha (the latter are for the benefits of probiotics).

I’ve personally heard of many people who’ve been able to put their autoimmune disorders in remission after switching to a Paleo diet. The belief is that disease can start in the gut, so when you remove gut irritating foods like grains, legumes, and dairy, as well as soy and sugar, you can heal your gut and heal your body. I’ve always said if you feel better without eating gluten or grains or dairy (or another food group)…then by all means avoid it!

So today I am excited to introduce some great resources for those interested in trying out a Paleo lifestyle…three books from the bestselling authors and creators of The Food Lovers Kitchen, Bill Staley and Hayley Mason:

  • Gather, The Art of Paleo Entertaining
The true art of paleo entertaining is creating a delicious and satisfying menu that will also promote good health. In Gather, The Art of Paleo Entertaining, Hayley and Bill show you how to orchestrate the perfect dinner party—whether you are planning an elegant holiday feast or hosting a casual brunch with friends.
    -
  • The 30 Day Guide to Paleo Cooking
For your first 30 days of eating Paleo, this book includes a complete 30-day meal plan broken down week by week. In each week, they provide a detailed schedule of the meals to make, shopping lists that go along with the meal plan, and recommended reading to expand your knowledge of this lifestyle beyond the basics. The book includes 75 paleo recipes, with an additional 24 bonus recipes for quick and easy meals beyond the plan.

Hayley Mason and Bill Staley started their grain-free journey together in 2010 with their blog, Primal Palate. Since then, they have cooked their way to becoming two of the most popular Paleo foodies on the web.

I would love the cookbook "Make it Paleo" as it looks like more everyday type foods and variety. I have been doing Paleo since March and feel great and lost weight. :)

I would love to read all three of the books but if I had to choose just 1 it would be Make It Paleo for the menu plans. I am switching my family to the Pale lifestyle.

I am interested in all of them, but if I had to choose one, I would say Make it Paleo. I like any cookbook that features tips on how to pick better produce and easily re-create meals.

I have just recently made the switch to Paleo after finishing the Whole30 challenge. I definitely need recipe ideas and would love the 30-day guide.

All 3 books look really really interesting. I'm new to the Paleo diet and am intrigued. I'd be most interested in the 30 day guide and Make it Paleo books. The entertaining book would be awesome too, once I gained some confidence using the recipes. But, I'm looking for ways to share and incorporate healthy dinners for get togethers too without being so "weird" or "out there"! ...So, I'd really be interested in ALL 3!! Thanks for the chance to win!!

That would be hard for me. I have been wanting to check out Gather, but I think Make it Paleo might be more up my alley since I don't actually do any entertaining.

I tried the paleo diet just to see if I could drop the last 10-15 pounds that I couldn't seem to shake. After trying it for about a month, I started going back to my old habits (eating lots of bread). I discovered that all of my intestinal issues that I have had all my life can be directly attributed to eating to much breads and grains!! I have gone back to paleo for the most part but still struggle daily with what to cook for meals and snacks. I feel that the 30 Day Guide to Paleo Cooking will help me go all the way paleo and leave me less confused when it comes to what to buy and cook.

I would love to check out the 30 Day Guide book... My husband does paleo and I have celiac so I am already gluten free and he keeps telling me to do this diet (lifestyle) with him! This book looks like the perfect opportunity to understand it better...

I am interested in Make it Paleo. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease last summer and have also developed a gluten sensitivity. I would love to get my disease under control and learn to make great tasting meals for my whole family.
